I went on a field trip with Lily's class to High Hill Ranch today. We toured the orchards via a hayride, the apple-sorting machines, the cider barn, and the pie & caramel apples making areas. We ended the trip with a snack (cider & apples) at their picnic tables and a class photo. Then they got to take home a caramel apple. Yum! We are ready for fall!!!!

Fifth Grade Fun
I decided to stick my name in the hat to help chaperone Jill's class field trip to our State Capitol building and the IMAX Theater. Initially I was not one of the 4 moms chosen and Jill was very sad. With the younger girls being at home, I had only been on one field trip with Jill before. But soon our fortune turned from bad to good. One mom had to drop out, and the teacher told me that she called me first because Jill showed SO MUCH concern over the new chaperone position...... When would they be chosen? When would she get to know who it was? etc. So, she just called me! We arrived at the Capitol and toured both the Senate and House chambers. Then we got to view Gov. Arnold's reception area to his office. No, he was not there! Then we walked to the IMAX Theater and watched Walking on the Moon. Very cool.
We then walked back to the ground of the Capitol and ate our lunches. Then rode the bus home. Thanks for inviting me Jill!

4th of July at Unkie Ryan's
I guess I am a "Holiday" blogger. Oh, and vacations too! ;) We had our fun family 4th at Unkie Ryan and Leslie's . My sister and her family came, along with my parents. Ryan bbq'd his usual tasty ribs and crabby patties. (Literally...the burgers were shaped like crabs. lol)
The girls put on a "dolphin show". We ate snow cones and then had dinner. When it got dark enough, the fireworks lit up!
